Disclosure: This post is part of a program sponsored by A Girls Guide to Cars and Toyota.
I know I’m a girly girl, but I really love attending The Houston Auto Show. This year was no different. I love seeing all of the latest technology, meeting brand representatives, and just being in the know about all things car!
Preview Night for Media & VIP
One of my favorite parts of the Houston Auto Show is the Preview Night for the Media and VIP Guest. This year was a Mardi Gras theme! As an event planner by profession, I absolutely love seeing how the theme was brought to life. We were greeted by a traditional New Orleans band and they were so lively. They set the tone for how the night would go. The tables were festive and scattered strategically amongst the vehicles. And there were walking tables! #LovedIt The food was plentiful as always and the bar was open…nope there were no test driving vehicles during the preview event.
My outfit for this year was SO stressful. Y’all know I wear pink 90% of the time. So I already had this great outfit picked out. It was going to be a crop top with wide leg pants because y’all know I have been in the gym. I’ve never tried on the crop top before and when I did…it looked a mess. It was so big at the top and tight at the bottom…I’m not even sure how that happens. So the day before the event I found myself at New York and Company scrounging around for something pink. I found a dress and it looked decent, but it wasn’t my fave… for this type of event. Everyone loved my boots though!
I still look cute in pictures and that’s all that really mattered. I find a pickup truck every year that I get obsessed with and this year is no different, I feel like I need a pink Toyota Tundra.
Press Day
Press day is always fun. You are able to get a close look at all the cars, ask questions without the general public, get great “carfies”, and get to get inside some of the luxury vehicles that are generally locked. Plus the media tower is ALWAYS stocked with water, chips, THE BEST Sugar Cookies, and popcorn.
During a chat with a Toyota Representative, I learned all about Toyota 4 Good and SBP. SBP was founded in 2006 to rebuild homes for families in New Orleans affected by Hurricane Katrina. Today, SBP supports victims of natural disasters and they currently have volunteers deployed in Houston, helping those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
I went live from the Toyota Booth and shared some cool things up close about the latest Toyota vehicles.
I had a ton of fun and learned a lot. If you have any specific questions about any Toyota vehicles, let me know. I have lots of information that I’ve gathered from the press contacts, plus I just bought one. ( LOL) Thanks for reading! (I’ll be doing a separate post about the media luncheon)
