Bridal Show Tips

Today I will be working the registration booth for the Houston Bridal Extravaganza. Bridal shows can be overwhelming, because every vendor you can possibly think of is there, offering specials and discounts if you book them today. As a wedding planner, I feel like I should share some tips on how you can survive the bridal show…and do it in style.
Bridal Show Tips
1. Bring labels with contact information. You will be asked to provide your contact information A LOT. Writing all of this over and over can be time consuming and leave you with a sore hand. Printing these labels will save you a lot of time and ice.
2.Create an email just for wedding information. When you get engaged your name magically appears on all kinds of email list. To keep your personal email inbox from being cluttered, create this email so all wedding related information goes there.
3.Bring Pen and Paper. You will be seeing a lot of ideas that you will fall in love with or just be downright inspired. Also, some bridal shows have workshops or fashion shows, use your paper to take notes or write down the name of the dress designer you are in love with!
4. Bring your camera! You can’t sketch extravagant centerpieces and unique favor ideas. Take pictures and capture each idea you fall in love with. (This is also a great way to show vendors what you are really looking for after the bridal show is over.)
5. Bring your credit card. Some vendors will give significant discounts if you sign up at the bridal show. Take time to look around and make sure you are getting the best deal and don’t let anyone try to pressure you to purchase. But be prepared to swipe if needed!
Bridal Show Attire

At bridal shows you will see everything from women in jeans and tank tops to women dressed in thier Sunday best. While, I don’t suggest holey jeans and tank tops (you want vendors to take you seriously), I think the church outfit may be a bit much as well. I suggest wearing a cute outfit with very comfortable heels. Take a look at the outfits below.
