How much is your wireless plan costing you?

I’m the girl that’s always on the go. I mean I’m always doing something. Whether, it going to a conference for event planners, taking road trips with friends, attending fashion shows or flying to California to hang out with fellow members of the Barbie Collector Advisory Panel.  Being that I’m in college, my friends, are constantly wondering how I afford to do all these different things! Well, I’m definitely not made of money, that’s for sure, but I do pinch my pennies where I can. I’ve been thinking about the best wireless plan I could use to cutting my cell phone bill down, but I was unsure as to how I could do that. I’m a Sprint customer, I have been for almost four years. Although, I love Sprint, I pay roughly $100 a month for one line…and guess what, everything isn’t even unlimited!! Wal-Mart Family Mobile, a relatively new wireless plan, offers some really good deals and really cool phones and accessories to go with it.

Right now, I’m paying $55 more a month for less service. Although, mobile to mobile is free with Sprint, I’m growing out of this 450 minute package, and it would be nice to not have to monitor whether I’m on the phone with a land-line or not. If I go over these 450 minutes, I’m charged .45 each additional minute. It’s happened before! (Yikes)

With this new information, I was super glad to try this new phone and new the service plan. So I headed to my local Wal-Mart to look around and see what was what. There are several different types of phones, from basic flip phones to high quality smartphones like the Galaxy. The only things you need to get started is a phone  and the Starter Kit which is $25. You can bring your own phone ( as long as its SIM card compatible) or you can get one from the store.

Wal-Mart has different phones you can choose from. Also, be sure to pick up the starter kit.

Look at me looking like a cell phone model! Lol I’m holding a giant Galaxy S3. So tired of being in the Iphone Family.

This is the phone that I will be using, the LG Optimus L9.

I’m a bargainista. I love shopping(check out my Google Plus Story of me shopping for this phone), but I like to buy things that are affordable. I like to save my money so that I have money to do fun things like travel and buy more Barbie dolls.

#FamilyMobileSaves
I bought this Barbie doll during my shopping trip. On average, playline dolls cost about $20 in the store and collectibles start around $40 and go up from there. I’m sure with my savings from using this wireless plan, I’ll be able to get alot more Barbie dolls! #FamilyMobileSaves.

What would you do with your savings if you switched to the Wal-Mart Family Mobile wireless plan?

  1. I have heard about the Wal-Mart Family Plan, and I am tempted to try it. With 2 adults (smartphones) and 3 children ‘regular’ phones, our Verizon bill is up to $250! (That’s more then my car payment!!)
I may have to try them out and see how the coverage is in the area.

Wow! This seems like it would be great for what I am looking for. I have twins that I am looking to purchase cell phones for and this seems very affordable. I will stop by Wal-Mart today to view the selection of phones they have. Thanks for sharing this.

    1. This might actually be a better plan for them, rather than Aio. I know they want the high-tech phones with truly unlimited plans. It’s slightly more expensive (just a few bucks), but you know what the kids want these days! Lol Let me know what you decide and I can help.

  3. I would definitely work a few less hours and spend more time with my baby girl. I miss her every minute I am at work!

  4. We used to have Walmart’s Wireless plan for our family and it was pretty good. However, when my husband switched jobs, his company started paying for his wireless phone – and we didn’t have this option any more. I wish we did – we would have stayed with them. It’s definitely a good value for the price. If he ever leaves his job, or they add Family Mobile, I will definitely be switching back.

    1. Yeah! The service is really good! After my contract expires I’m seriously thinking about switching! Right now, I’m just enjoying walking around with two phones…using the Wal-Mart phone to make calls to non-landline numbers…you know since Sprint isn’t unlimited.

    1. I’m still with Sprint because I’m under contract, but I’ve since gifted this phone to my friend. She has recently had a baby and was trying to cut down on unnecessary cost. She loves it…and she loves the price too! 🙂
