Life Lessons Learned from TLC Biopic #CrazySexyCool

crazy sexy cool TLC Bipoic

Monday night, everyone  tuned in for the much anticipated TLC Biopic; CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story on VH1. They live-tweeted their opinions about the casting, the storyline, and the legacy of TLC in general. The overall consensus was: the casting was spot on, Lil’ Mama’s performance was awesome, Pebbles is the devil in Prada, and TLC is pretty much the greatest, most inspiring female group of ALL time. Despite a few gaps and a few corny scenes, I absolutely loved the movie! I found myself laughing, crying, and as always learning from the movie. crazy sexy cool 1. Know your worth. It was really sad in the movie to see that the women of TLC worked so hard only to end up with financial problems. These ladies were so excited that they never read their contracts or had lawyers look over it. Although, an opportunity may look good, you have to make sure that you aren’t getting exploited in the process. Sometimes that may mean not taking the opportunity at all.

 2. Don’t let “pebbles” stand in your way. I’m pretty sure Perri aka Pebbles is ’bout ready to shut her Twitter down from all the hate comments she got from TLC fans the night of the premiere. Chile, they were letting her have it!! Pebbles took advantage of these naïve girls for her own personal gain. When TLC found out that they were broke, they could have just given up, but they didn’t! They  put their heads together, got a new manager, and made Pebbles look like the demon she was.

3. True friendship, trumps all. I was all emotional during the movie because of the bonds that TLC created with each other. It was so beautiful *tear*! Despite male problems. family issues, sickness, money, and all other kinds of foolery, there were still friends–sisters almost! They were always there for each other and provided the honest truth when one of them needed to hear it. *Tear* I’m getting kind of emotional again. That movie made me really evaluate some of my “friendships” and I will be making adjustments as necessary. I want some TLC friends! Lol

4. If it is meant to be, it will be. It was their dream to be in a girl group and perform worldwide and they did it! Despite ALL the obstacles and hell that came their way, the were still triumphant! I really feel like church right now! Lol This is a true testament that whatever is for you, is indeed for you! And whatever that is supposed to be, will be!

Did you guys tune it? What did you think? Did you learn something? Talk to me! I want to know!

  1. I did not see it yet, but I had heard about their financial troubles, and it was just heartbreaking. Shame on the music industry for treating people that way.
