How To Protect Your Tablet

Yes. The picture above is real.  And it’s really sad too! Especially because I didn’t make it fall, this clumsy annoying girl knocked it out of hands at school. My new tablet has a cracked screen. Omg. Typing that sentence almost bought tears to my eyes. It’s already being repaired, but the experience of having an injured electronic device  is one I hope no one ever has to experience. I want you to learn from my mistakes so today I’m sharing three important tips on how to protect your tablet, so you won’t go off on the girl who knocked it over be sad like me.

1. No naked tablets. Purchase a case. Obvious right? Wrong…I know tons of people who prefer to walk around with their tablets naked as newborn baby. That’s not safe. Instead of me getting a standard case from a Office Depot or Radio Shack, I HAD to be queen extra and order a cute, pink, personalized, custom tablet that takes 3 weeks to be made. Sigh. If you must take your tablet out without a case, be extra cautious and avoid young children, high counter tops, side walk cracks, and clumsy college sophomores. (Side eye)

2. Don’t ride dirtyinsure your tablet.  Now, I’m a firm believer in insurance. I insure everything, my car, my apartment, my Barbie dolls, and my electronic devices are no different. Most electronic insurance plans don’t include accidental protection (i.e. cracked screens), but some do, and that’s really good to have (obvi)! However, almost all insurance plans protect your device should it decide to go crazy on you and download apps on its own or if its stolen (although you may pay a deductible). It’s totally worth it! You can purchase insurance through your mobile provider and/or the retail store you purchased it from( Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Radio Shack etc.). Look over the insurance so you can know what is covered and what isn’t. I’m telling you the extra $5 on your cell phone bill or an extra $20 at checkout is totes worth it!

3. Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your tablets too! Cause people be stealing out here!!! Chile, I purchased another tablet back in August and I bought it to school one night and someone stole it.  (I think there is a pattern here.) Luckily, it was insured through my renters insurance andddd the place I bought it from, so I got a brand new one within 4-6 weeks  later. Now I keep my stuff close by but thieves are smart and they will find a way to get your stuff. Keep your things with you, secured, no matter where you are! People be hating! They don’t like to see others with stuff they don’t have.

Please take these tips seriously! I don’t want anyone else to experience the sadness I’ve had to endure due to theft and damage. Let me know what other ways you protect your tablets and other electronic devices!

  1. And I’d recommend picking a GOOD case, especially if you have a toddler! I have an Otterbox case, and my iPad has been dropped many, many times (on carpet, though).
