My Orangetheory Workout!

Orange-Theory-Town-And-Country

I was recently invited to try out Orangetheory Fitness. I haven’t worked out in a while, so I used this as the perfect excuse to get my buns off the computer and get active. Before attending Orange Theory, I wasn’t really sure what the workout was like. It just looked cute so I thought I’d try out.

When I checked in, I was greeted by the manager, the front desk associate, and the PR representative who organized this for me. The first thing that I noticed about Orangetheory is that it is very ORANGE. If you think I have a lot a pink, just  envision a work out space decked out in all orange. Very cute. I got there kind of late, because I got lost, but I recommend that you get there 10-15 minutes before your class, especially if you are a newbie. You have to get your heart rate monitor set up as well as take a brief tour/demo of the equipment in the class. You don’t want to be rushed.

The class is very fun. It’s also very active and depending on your level of fitness, can be intense. Depending on your group, you will start on the treadmills or the row machines. I started off on the treadmills.

Presentation is everything! Domino Arts does it for you.

There are different levels and each participant is allowed to choose how intense they’d like to be. You can be a power walker, a jogger, or a runner. I fell somewhere between a power walker and a jogger. The coach would let us know when we should slow down or speed up which was good.

Then we switched to the row machines. We were to row until our numbers reached 1200 (and then 900 after we repeated the circuit). I liked the row machines the best out of the whole circuit. There was water in the circular part and you had to row in order for your strokes to register, kind of like swimming, without the water. Kinda.

Then we switched to the weights area. The coach showed us the exercises and there was also a video demonstration on the screen.

After we did that we  repeated the circuit. It was easier the second time around. After that class was over and all the newbies stated after to go over our results. Our heart rate monitor kept track of our points, heart rate, and calories burned throughout the workout. You can actually look at it throughout the workout. It’s pretty cool. They also send you your scores to your email after class.

Orange Theory writes songs and promotions on their windows. It’s pretty cute! Orange-Theory-Promotions

I had a pretty fun workout and I definitely think you should try it out. Orangetheory is offering a chance for you to take two free classes through the end of August!
