I recently attended a BeauTea hosted by the Beauty Mentoring Organization here in Houston. Beauty stands for Biblically Edifying and Uniquely Training You. At the tea party the young attendees were able to hear from notable women in the community, such as Ashley Turner (First daughter of Houston and community volunteer), Kim Roxie (founder of Lamik Cosmetics), and Kandice Rose (founder of Pretty Girls With Cancer).

Several other leaders and business owners from the community were there as well, including my fellow UH Cougar, Mayor Sylvester Turner. He presented a proclamation to the founder, Sherell Ogletree, naming April 24, Beauty Mentoring Day.
I love a beautifully decorated event and this event was just that. The theme of the tea party was carried through the decor very well. Tea cups, kettles, feminine colors, and off course sandwiches, macrons, and other foods commonly seen at a royal tea.
This was such a great event. I attend events often but decided to take my little sisters, Hope and Hannah with me as they just turned 16. As the oldest of of 6 girls, I’ve always strived to be a mentor to all of my sisters, which is why I felt the need to take them to this event and allow them to meet the mayor, his daughter, as well as other influential women in the community.
Support the Beauty Mentoring organization if you can. This is an awesome organization that is celebrating young women on the rise.
