I haven’t done a Barbie post in a while but I still love her! I was super excited to see the Barbie Truck shopping experience come to Texas! As I’ve gotten older I have really zeroed in on the kind of Barbie dolls and the accessories or knick-knacks that I want to collect. I used to go crazy when I would go shopping for Barbie stuff and then be sad if I didn’t get everything I thought I wanted.
The Barbie Truck came to the Houston area this past weekend and before I made the 45-minute drive to The Woodlands, I did my research. (Sidenote: Why do all the cool popups happen in the suburbs?) I checked out what they were selling online and I kind of made up my mind on what I wanted before I went. #Growth
Initially, I wanted a denim jacket but when I got there-the jackets weren’t doing it for me. I’m big on personalization and I just want my jacket to be totally me! They were cute though.
I ended up purchasing the Barbie Tour Tee, the dad hat, Barbie necklace, pin set, and patch set. It came out to be $108. I’m on this new Money Makeover with Dave Ramsey and this is half of my fun money for the month but I think the unique pieces are really worth it.
I really enjoyed stopping by the Barbie Truck! I wish it was more of a full pop-up experience. Maybe like an RV where we could go in and immerse ourselves in all things Barbie. I think I’m spoiled but after being selected for the Mattel Collector Advisory Panel and seeing so much Barbie stuff and having a full experience, I feel like that’s what was missing from this. There were little girls there and they wanted to see dolls and they wanted to touch things and play with them. Y’all know I’m an event planner so I’m all about creating memorable experiences–no shade, just want to upgrade it so that it can be even better next time.
I had fun, took some super cute pictures, spent money, and got to be an unapologetic Black Barbie.
