Tu-Tu Healthy!

Last Saturday, I attended the annual Tu-Tu 5K Fun Run hosted by Lady of Essence. It was such a great experience! Although, I wasn’t running I truly felt apart of the group. It was so awesome to see a large group of women ( and some men) committed to making healthy choices and exercising–and having a great time by doing it! (Warning: Image heavy post)

Tank: Wal-Mart
Skirt: Justice (old)
Sneaker Wedges: Go Jane
Purse: Forever 21
I didn’t have a tu-tu, but I did have this skirt from when I worked at Justice a few years ago.
Yes, that’s a children’s store.. Yes, I wear children’s clothes!
I love the slogan!
This was a tu-tu run which means you had to wear a tu-tu. The ladies (and their pooches) came in one of kind tu-tu’s that were simply adorable!

This was about being healthy and coming to run a 5K, after a warm up (including popular lines dances and stretching) the group began the race.

The race ended with a super fun post party that included zumba, Caribbean line dances, and of course healthy refreshments!

This very athletic lady is Ms. Edrina Newman, who is the CEO and Owner of Lady of  Essence,
She is the one who is responsible for this awesome event! Please check out some of the classes that are offered at  her studio: pole fitness, zumba, boot camp, and so much more!

Next year I will be running the race too. I’m going to start finding/ making my tu-tu now! Congrats again on a successful event! Don’t forget about my $25 Payless Giveaway!
What are some fun ways that you stay healthy?
