Wow! I’m getting bad about posting event photos late. I go to/plan so many events lately… I’m going to start posting again multiple times per day. Back in May (May 16 to be exact) I attended the Downtown for Dummies, Buffalo Bayou for Beginners lunch and learn open house. We learned about different goals for the bayou, met neighborhood and outdoor experts, and there was an option to tour the newly remodeled rooms…which I missed.
I learned alot about what was offered here in Houston and I’m surprised at all the free or cheap activities in Downtown Houston. I’m not an outdoorsy person but I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about what was available in Houston. Some of the things I was interested in were:
Waugh Drive bridge bat colony with Diana Foss from Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept.
Bike safety with Bike Houston and the new Houston Bike Sharing Program
Houston history with The Heritage Society
Kayaking 101 and kayak tours with Rico Torres from Bayou Shuttle
Check out some of these activities this summer and let me know how you like them!
