I’ve been super busy lately and I have a ton of event recaps to post, one of my favorites was the Clarins Makeup Event about a month ago. Yes, y’all, a month…I told y’all I was behind. Now, I’m not really a big makeup blogger…but I really want to learn about makeup now. I’m about to be 23 and my 15 year old sister can do her makeup better than me! I’m jealous. Anyway, the PR representative also offered me a car service to take me to the event…yes, y’all I had a driver! I usually work late on Tuesdays, but I left work early to get home to change my outfit and freshen up. That car service came in handy!! After a long day at work, I really didn’t feel like dealing with these crazy Houston drivers. Although, the mall is like 15 minutes away from me, it’s upwards of 30 on a busy week night. I hopped in the town car, made small talk with the driver, and before you knew I was sleep! When we got to the mall, the driver gently woke me up and I wiped the slob off of my face and tried to look peppy. Chile, as I’m walking into the mall, fluffing my hair and fixing my makeup, an African man walks up to me and touches my side. Now, I don’t play games, my hand was in my purse reaching for my taser, but I didn’t want to shock him in the middle of the mall. He kept talking to me, saying I’m so pretty, and that he wanted to take me out. Ugh…his breath smelled so bad! I was trying to walk toward the event but I didn’t want other people to see me with him (for fear that someone would see us together, yuck). So, I feigned interest, gave a fake number, and practically skipped to the event. Idk, what’s going on with these guys lately, they can’t take no for an answer. Anyway…
The event was set up super nice. Lovely, make up set-ups were around and the PR representative, the Clarins makeup representative, and Dayan Herrera were all there to answer questions and give demonstrations about the makeup/skincare offerings.
Of course we had some drinks there…they weren’t alcoholic, but it was an organic juice cocktail that was just as tasty and good. I had a couple of them.
It’s always good to see my fellow Houston Fashion Bloggers members out and about. Pictured here is Alice of Lone Star Looking Glass, HFB Intern, Courtney, Tamara of Malibu Mara,
The Clarins representative gave us the rundown on all things Clarins. Clarins is actually a combination of makeup and skincare line. Some of the products work double duty to make you skin healthier and to enhance it,
Dayan gave a few demonstrations on how the products work, here he is using the PR representative as a model.
I love his sense of style!
Here is Shalanda of Live Life In Style serving as a model as well.
It was a great event…minus the African stalker at the beginning. I’m so glad to have met Dayan and learn a little bit more about keeping my skin health and beautiful. Thanks Clarins for an awesome time and an even more awesome gift bag!
