Fashion Houston Five Night One!

Every November in Houston, Fashion Houston comes in and takes over downtown. Fashionistas and fashionistos come dressed to impress for the red and come out to see both rising and top designers showcase their spring collections. I was only able to attend night this year. I had backstage and media for the press pit.  Backstage was really interesting and it actually wasn’t that glamourous. People were back there working hard! Doing makeup, practicing walks, teasing hair. I captured a few but I’ll share those on social media, so be sure to follow my instagram

I arrived super early, like 4:30, so I hung out back stage before coming to the red . The red carpet was lined with these super nice Audi’s as well as some beautiful promo models offering LIQs cocktails to  people as they . I caught up with so many bloggers…there were alot of us there for night one. We were deep!  It’s really nice we had customized media passes this year, they actually said MEDIA and BLOGGER on them. Look at bloggers getting recognition and love! There was also a media lounge which get my phone to 80% before the show . That was really helpful!

Lol I Wortham. It’s such a beautiful venue and such a unique venue to have the show. It’s the perfect size not too big not too small and downtown is central and posh. Opening

After the Mayor of Houston, Annise Parker gave some great fashion advice via video “If it’s too tight and you can’t breathe, don’t leave in it!” Rocko Stedy Narvois performed the Houston Theme Song. The founders of Fashion Houston and the emcee spoke as well. Fashion Houston Opening Performer Fashion Houston Opening Emcees

Alexis Monstano

This line was fun and full of theatrics. That one model…you know who I’m talking about is HOT. His scowl is everything. Fashion Houston Alexis Monsanto Alexis Monstano Fashion Houston

Jonathan Blake

The short suit, the pink dress, and the long green patterned skirt were my absolute faves. The entire line was great and I actually wear almost everything presented.

 TIBI

Love these too looks. I’m a huge skater dress fan but I don’t normally wear loose clothing, but the second model killed it so she inspired me. Tibi Fashion Houston5

LITTLE BLACK DRESS DESIGNER

This was the show I was looking forward to the most! Students from Art Institute of Houston design little black dresses for a chance to win scholarship money! I loved LBD’s and I absolutely loved it. They had two models for the same dress, one fashion model and one real woman. It was refreshing. It was fun and I enjoyed the designers walking with the models at the end. Little-Black-Dress-Designer-Fashion-Houston-Five

 SAMEERA FARIDI

Little known fact, I’m obsessed with South Asian clothes. Every time I work with a bride who is having a South Asian wedding, I go and borrow clothes from my friends. I loved the intricate beading and detail and how the clothes are loose and flowy. I LOVED the line!Sameera-Faridi-Fashion-Houston-Five

Fashion Houston night one was great! I had to leave because my phone started dying and then I had a migraine. I got my dose of fashion medicine and went home to take an Advil. I went to bed and had dreams of taking all of my favorites from the show and having the best wardrobe in Houston!

What were some of your favorite looks?
