Okay, so classes have been back in session for a little bit. The initial excitement over your new class schedule, Vera Bradley laptop case, and the hot accounting professor is long gone.
The first two weeks of school, you were beating your alarm clock, commenting on blogs, and stopping by Shipley’s for a bag of donuts holes. Now you are waking up with 20 minutes before your 9am class and a 10 minute walk to class.
Sound familiar? I can honestly say this isn’t me, because I’m such a morning person, however a ton of my friends have been making it to class just before the pop quiz or the random attendance check. When they do make it however, they look a hot mess! Whoever said a messy ponytail, your sorority t-shirt, and pajamas pants was an acceptable outfit lied honey!
I’m not going to pretend like I don’t run late some mornings, because that’s just inevitable. But even when I got a late start that morning, I always like to show up to my 8am classes looking bright eyed and pulled together. How do I do that?
DRESSES
Dresses are the easiest outfit! You just do some quick personal hygiene, put your hair in a ponytail, pull on your dress, and roll out! Here is some outfit inspiration for when you have the pajama pants itch:
A maxi dress is the easiest way to go. If you have a patterned dress no accessories are really needed–except for some pearl studs to finish it off.
If you show up to class in this outfit, no one will believe that you woke up twenty minutes ago! A patterned dress with a thin belt is such a polished look. Whether it be summer or fall, you can put on your sandals or your boots and still look great!
This actually a top and skirt. But it still gives off the dress vibe. Pairing a tailored high waist bottom with anything will make you look like you spent hours grooming in the bathroom. This look is just a regular polka-dot shirt and a skirt, paired with some oxfords. Instant chicness!
Tips for Getting Dressed and Out The Door Quickly
–Find your clothes the night before. I sometimes find all my outfits the Sunday night before for the entire week. It saves a ton of time! And you will have cute outfits everyday!
–Take a shower at night.I’m all about multiple baths a day–in fact in the summertime, I highly recommend it! However, its nice to know that if you took a bath the night before and you wake up a little later, you can freshen up quickly without having to shower.
–Get everything together the night before. I do mean everything-lunch kits, flash drives, laptop bags, tri-fold board..it’s amazing what you forget when you are in a rush. Get all things together and sit it as close to the front door as possible.
I’m a firm believer that a great outfit can help you feel better about yourself and have a better day. So get up every morning and try to look your very best. I’ve heard somewhere that a strong positive self image is the best way to prepare for success. So dress for success every day even when you think you don’t have time!
Have a positive day!

Great tips, Taylor! I love wearing dresses, especially during the summer, because they are so easy to style.
