I was invited to a media night at Boyert Shooting Center and I was so happy to have gotten an invite. Little known fact, I’m obsessed with self protection devices–I have a pink taser, a pink pepper spray, a pink pocket knife, and a shotgun…I found a guy to make it pink! I’ve always wanted to get my CHL (concealed handgun license) but I never took the time to do what I needed to do to get it. Well after my super fun time at the range, I’m inspired to do so.
When we arrived, it was pouring down raining, so I was kind of annoyed, but I got excited again when I saw the food waiting for us…oh and super cool gift bags too! I came straight from work so these munchies were truly a blessing–I wasn’t trying to drive through any place and get rained on!
Before I started shooting…I started shopping–window shopping, but still. I looked around the Showroom at all of the super cool guns and tasers. I wanted to buy everything, as usual.
I pretty much wanted everything that was pink.
After “shopping”, I played around in the simulator. I loved it! It’s like a full screen video game that you get to shoot at! There were all kinds of scenarios from ATM robberies, hostage situations, to hunting, and practice. Its been a while since I’ve had to shoot my gun, so I definitely needed this warm up.
After a brief safety overview, I headed toward the range to shoot! I came straight from work so I was in my work clothes…yes, I did shoot in those shoes!
I’ve been to a gun range before that was outside another that was inside but didn’t have good air…chile, I needs my air conditioning! Boyert had the place freezing (YES) which I enjoyed. It can warm up quickly when you are shooting hot firearms. The range was also very clean and had a really fun feel to it…unlike others I’ve been to that have that snooty, country club, feel to it.
Not sure if you should be smiling while holding a firearm but…I’m cute! Lol

I shot some pretty awesome guns! My favorite was the automatic assault rifle! I went again yesterday with my mom and sister and some family friends, we enjoyed it as well! This is a great family outing or a fun girls night out. They have special during the week for ladies night, date night, and family night. You should definitely try it out! Thanks Boyert for the awesome time…see you for CHL class!
