Celebrating Birthdays with Hallmark Value Cards

When someone’s birthday rolls around it’s almost like second nature to go the store and pick out the perfect greeting card. Greeting cards provide the perfect wording when it’s sometimes difficult to find the words…especially when it’s the birthday of someone you look. Birthdays are such special times in our lives. It’s a time celebrate another year on Earth. As family members age o begin to deal with illnesses it becomes even more important to celebrate these milestone birthdays. My mommy’s birthday is August 5th and my grandmother’s birthday is August 11th. My sister’s and I decided to throw a small little gathering to celebrate these two important women in our lives. Since, I’m the oldest I generally go to the store and pick out a few cards for us to sign as a family. Greeting cards can be kinda pricey,,,sometimes it can be $5 or $6 per card…and I usually purchase four or five cards at a time. Luckily, the line of Value Cards from Hallmark allows you to purchase high quality for either .47¢ or 97¢.

Hallmark Value Cards

I decided to head to Wal-Mart to pick out the best cards for us to present to my mommy and my Nana. Surprisingly, the value section had a significant amount of cards to choose from and I actually had a difficult time deciding on which cards to buy. I initially planned on getting two cards total, one for mommy and one for Nana, but I ended up getting four cards, because the wording was too perfect!

Speaking of perfect…I’m the web-lebrity  of my family. I will take your phone and follow all of my social accounts and I will subscribe you to my blog by email because that’s what family is for right? Family =Follower by default. I found the perfect social media card to give to my Nana! Generally the really good cards are more expensive…but this was one of the #ValueCards. How perfect is that?

After picking out the perfect cakes, I headed to the bakery section to pick out the perfect cakes. For like the first time ever, I didn’t order the cake in advance so I had to choose from the already baked cakes. This was almost as hard as picking out the cards.

After choosing the perfect #ValueCard and the perfect cake, we set up our two mini cakes and presented our Hallmark cards to two very important ladies. My mom literally has every greeting card, note, and macaroni art, that we have ever given her. She read her card and she really liked it. It was short and sweet and to the point…and it had all the signatures of her 6 daughters. My grandma, loves greeting cards. When I was younger, I remember her actually having a file of greeting cards that she could pull from if she didn’t have time to go to the store. She loved her card!

Family Selfie

We tried to do the selfie, but it was not quite right. So we just decided to use the self-timer. In this picture is my great grandma, my grandma (Nana), my mommy, and all five of my sisters.

Oh, yeah before you leave I want to tell you about the awesome new reward program that Hallmark has. For every 5 cards you purchase you are rewarded with points redeemable for dollars off merchandise or dining from Hallmark partners.  Using the Hallmark App you can report the cards you purchased, track your purchases, and redeem your rewards!

What are you celebrating this summer? Can you use a #ValueCard to help make the celebration better?
