My Review:

I love food! After playing, eating is my favorite activity. A few weeks ago my human gave me these great treats. They were a little big for my mouth, but when she breaks them up I can eat them better (and I have more!). She also introduced a new food. At first, I was like, “Listen here lady! Don’t mess with my grub, ” but 5 minutes later, I was chowing down. I had never had anything with chickpea in it but if theres chicken involved, I’m a big fan. She keeps giving this food to me so I guess this is my new food. I heard her telling the groomer that she was trying out a new dog food that was grain free. She was excited, she’s been telling her to switch to something like that for a while. I like this new food, the kernels are a bit bigger than what I’m used to but, it still taste yummy.

The Human’s Review:

It is no secret that Sparkle likes to eat. I often find myself defending my dog parenting skills because people think I don’t feed her enough! She eats plenty. She’s just a greedy little dog with a high metabolism. Since, we were traveling the past few weeks I tried the pumpkin treats out first. When I tell you she almost bit my hand of to get those, I’m not exaggerating. She loved those treats! They were a great distraction while we were at the big scary airport for the first time. As for the food, she ate it, hesitantly at first, but very enthusiastically shortly after. I wasn’t able to tell right off, if she was just eating just for the sake of it, or if she genuinely liked the food. I started by mixing in her old food with the new food and by the time we got to just the Heritage Brand food, I could tell that she really liked it. I’m glad. I’ve been searching for an affordable dog food that is not only good to her but good for her. We’ve been dealing with a lot of skin issues lately and her vet recommended a grain free food with no artificial colors. It’s great to know that this brand is available in a neighborhood grocery store as well. I will be honest and say that I’ve forgotten to pick up Sparkle’s food only to realize that it is now 9:06 and Petsmart/Petco/Neighborhood Pet Store closed at 9pm. She enjoys those days because she knows, I’ll cook something for her, however, I want to make sure that she is getting all the necessary nutrients that she needs. The Heritage Ranch Dog Food brand also contains Omega 3 and 6 which is great for supporting bones and joints. Although, Sparkle is very much a young pup, all the jumping and hopping she does probably does take a toll on her little bones. I recommend this food because my dog likes it, it fits in my budget, and it is a healthy option that is grain free and full of nutrients.
