Houston Blogging Chicks at Royal Sonesta!

Last Thursday, I attended my first Houston Blogging Chicks meeting! The meeting was held at the Royal Sonesta in the One Table Restaurant. The ladies who were here were so awesome and I’m super glad that I was able to attend this meeting!

When I first got to the meeting, all the women were doing a cocktail hour in the kitchen.
Of course I had to get an outfit picture of me in black and gold.
As a Hospitality Student, it was so nice to actually be right by the chefs in the actual kitchen, especially since I have never worked in a restaurant (or want to work in one.)
I reaslly love how they made the cocktail hour so intimate and unique in kitchen. Here was the set up for the bar. She was so nice!

After such a good cocktail hour, we moved into the room where we would have our meeting and dinner.
The chef came out to speak to us. Chef Peter Laufer.
THis was the first course…Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with Apple Jicama.
This was the 2nd course:Stuffed Quail and other yummies!
Dessert:  Greek yogurt Cake and Molten Chocolate Cake wth ice cream!

Lisa is the founder of the Houston Blogging Chicks. She blogs over at Milehimama.

Heather who is a very successful blogger, who blogs over at Freebes4Mom, spoke to the group about monetization.

Being that I’m a social butterfly, I really enjoy meetings where I can meet others. I also really enjoy meetings where I can learn things as well. The ladies of Houston Blogging Chicks really know how to have a good time, as well as share valuable information to help other bloggers become successful. The information I relieved about affiliates, AdSense, invoicing  and just running your blog more like a business, was invaluable! I will definitely be joining these women at the next meeting. And if you are a blogger in Houston who takes their blog seriously…you should too!
