Disclosure: TXU Energy paid my registration fee for entrance into the Turkey Trot. In exchange I ran in the race and promoted some events/happenings on my blog/social media accounts.
Remember my to-do list I shared earlier this year? It’s kinda like my New Year’s Resolutions, except for it’s things that I can actually hold myself accountable for doing, and it makes for good blog content. One of my things was to run complete a 5k and I did in fact complete the entire Turkey Trot but running may be an exaggeration. Yay! I really can’t believe I finished my first 5k! It was a great experience and I really am going to train for another one and actually try to run most of it, but I really liked walking! And since I completed a 5K, I’m so inspired to do a 10K, and maybe a marathon later on. I think the 10K will definitely be on my To-Do List for 2013.

I had such a good time and I’m really inspired to do some other races in the future. Remember, when I told you guys that I was going to train, so that I could run the entire thing…I lied. I didn’t step into the gym not once to train! Not even once! So I’m super proud that I didn’t pass out! I would have never even done this race, had the awesome people from TXU Energy (who also was the underwriter for the event) not sponsored me. This was such a great experience and I’m glad to be able to walk/run for services for senior citizens who may not be able to do either. Thanks TXU Energy, you guys rock! Have you ran a 5k before? How’d you do? Did it support a Non-Profit organization or charity? Which one?
