My (Kinda) Name Change

I’ve been a bad, bad, blogger! If you didn’t notice I removed my post from last Friday and didn’t put it back up until yesterday. And I told you in my sneaker wedge post  that I would be posting three times a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I failed you…because I didn’t post yesterday. I’ve been emotionally  and physically drained. With my car being stolen and then with Homecoming Week I was just too tired and I’d rather not put up poor content just for the sake of posting. So this week, I won’t be posting much, maybe today and Friday.Okay, now that I’ve apologized, I wanted to explain a recent change on my blog. The removal of “Following The Life of A Real Black Barbie”. My blog originally started as an outlet for me to express who I am…and it still is just on a much bigger scale. It has now grown to a platform that allows me to share my ideas, style, and life experiences with others. I received some frowns from some people about being a  “Black Barbie”, some because “Barbie isn’t a role model”, “she doesn’t dress conservatively”, “she is epitome of societal views towards women”, “she is a slut”, “she is the reason for eating disorders”, “Black Barbie’s aren’t real”—these are all direct quotes that people have commented or emailed to me at one point or another. I’m not changing my blog because these people are negative and have nothing better to do than to bring others down. I’m changing my name to help build my own brand. To me Barbie embodies, life, style, and girl power. Others don’t see it that way, but I do. Barbie is also a registered trademark and as my brand gets bigger I won’t be able to use it much.  So I’m focusing on Taylor Brione–my very own name and my very pretty life, which includes my favorite color pink.

I will always be a Black Barbie. It is a nickname that I have grown to love and will always embrace. I will always be a Barbie Collector  and supporter of Barbie products and the Barbie brand. But above all I’m Taylor Brione!

Thanks for stopping by guys!
