President Obama Comes To Houston!

Yesterday was the experience of a lifetime, I was able to go and hear President Barack Obama speak at Minute Maid Park. Normally, tickets for this event go for $500 and up. However, because of the Texas Southern University chapter of the NAACP, I was able to attend for a mere $25.We had to go through major security! To say the Secret Service was intense is an understatement! They were not playing at all, no metals pens, no paperclips, no loose keys. They were so strict, but I mean that is to be expected when its the leader of the free world they are trying to protect. I asked to pet one of the Secret Service dogs and they said, “Ma’am, please don’t touch this dog. He is on duty.” LOL The dog looked quite miserable.Since the reception was at Union Station at Minute Maid Park, we had ball park themed food! Yes!! Mini burgers, mini hot dogs, and pretzels. I’m not even going to lie, I had 10 mini burgers! LOL I haven’t had a complete meal since the start of midterm week, and I was super hungry! Well, enough of me talking, below are some of the photos I captured.

My cousin Ashley and I snapped a few pictures with Instagram while we waited. The President Obama was delayed because of weather.

This was such an awesome experience. I wish I could’ve had the opportunity to actually meet him…but that requires a donation of more than $25.  Anyway, I’m just glad to have been in the same room with the commander-in-chief.
