I remember my prom like it was yesterday! It was such fun experience and a time I’ll never forget…even though I didn’t have a date. But, that’s another blog post! I remember shopping for my prom dress, it was an exhausting experience. I wanted a dress that was unique, yet still me. I didn’t want anyone at my school to have the same dress as me and I wanted everyone to compliment me! (How vain) In my mind, my dream dress was pink…but every pink dress I tried on was a hot mess! I’m pear shaped…I have like zero boobs, but my bottom half is, umm,err, quite large. All the dresses either fit up top or bottom, but not both at the same time. I ended up falling in love with my leopard print gown. My dress was a size 10 and required major alterations…but I loved it.
Now that I’ve traveled down memory lane. Let’s get down to business….
Prom Dress Trends
Prom is right around the corner and these are some of the hot styles that will definitely be at proms all over!
1. Metallic: Silvers, golds, bronzes, and probably some platinum’s. Any of the metallic shades are big for prom season this year.
2. Bold Colors: Colors are fun! The bright bold colors also photograph very beautifully!
3. Hi-Low: I’m really excited about this, because I personally hate short dresses for prom. I love the idea of having a hi-low gown …it gives you a mix of fun, but still formal.
4. Cutouts: Yay! I wore cutouts back in 2010 and they are still very much on trend for prom. It’s just a subtle (or not so subtl) way to show some skin and still look classy.

This Friday, they are ending off the week with a fun filled prom dress presentation! There will be a DJ, photo booth, makeup, and of course food!
