Thanking God through the Good + Bad, Happy Thanksgiving!

Taylor-Brione-Happy-Thanksgiving

What if you woke up today and only had the things you thanked God for yesterday? What would you still have? Honestly…I wouldn’t have much. I’ve shared here how this year has been a struggle for  mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially–pretty much in all ways possible. Up until recently, I spent alot of time being sad about what was going wrong in my life. I very rarely thanked God for what was right despite my circumstances. I had an humbling experience today. This morning at 7am, I headed downtown to feed those in need at the convention center. I don’t know what I was expecting butttt I definitely wasn’t expecting to see entire families lined up, babies laying on the ground, and sick and severely handicapped individuals waiting to get this free meal. I just don’t know what I was expecting. I struggled to fight back tears not because I felt sorry for these individuals but because immediately I realize how selfish I’ve been. Yes, I’ve been having an extremely hard time financially and emotionally but it could be so much worse. I lay at home and sulk about what I don’t have when these people really don’t have anything can sit on the sidewalk or SLEEP on the sidewalk and still be happy. They were still smiling and laughing because they are thankful. So today, I thank God for everything! I thank him for my family, my friends, my reasonable  health, and my dog. I thank him for my struggles,  for my past due bills, for my expensive apartment, for my has guzzling car, and for everything else I’m stressing out over. I thank him for those things because at least I have a car and an apartment to stress over. Whatever you are going through find a reason to be thankful. Don’t only be thankful for when everything is right. Today, I’m thanking God through the good + bad.

Happy Thanksgiving!
