2012 has been an awesome year! I’ve grown so much as a person, a professional, and as a blogger! Here are my top ten highlights from 2012!
10. Completing my first 5K!
Although, running may be an exaggeration I completed a 5K! If you know me then you know I have leg problems and I get out shape walking to the elevator…this was a huge accomplishment for me!
9. Seeing Trey Songz in concert!
So the concert hasn’t officially happened…it’s tonight!! But I’ve written about Trey Songz enough on this blog for you guys to know that I’m a fan– #TreysAngels! I’m super excited to see him in concert tonight and I know that this will be a highlight of my year…so I had to just throw it in here! (Thats him on my shirt by the way…Top of The World is one of his songs!)
8. Being on TV!
So whatever…it was a local talk show in Houston, but it was still cool! We got clothes, discounts, and most off I got exposure for myself–my brand and my blog!
7. Flying for the first time!
Yes. Before this year, I had never been on a plane! I was scared at first, but it’s actually pretty cool! And I’m pretty sure I’ve mastered traveling in style!
6. Voting in my first presidential election.
Yes, I have always been a part of the political process–even when I was too young to vote. I volunteered, acted as a voter registrar, and donated money. I have voted in local and state elections, but its nothing voting for the President and having your vote actually count! If you like me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter, you know I made a big stink about the lack of stickers at my precinct! My mom drove all the way from Katy to bring me stickers!
5. Being selected as Vice Chair of the Homecoming Board!
Homecoming this year was an awesome experience and I’m so glad to have been Vice Chair! I haven’t posted about homecoming events yet, but I will soon! (Sorry)
4. Getting my new car Blessing!
After my car was stolen, I was seriously devastated I had thoughts of what I was going to do, how I was going to get to work, how I was going to get to school, and overall–why me? Of course, God works everything out! Now this is truly my car–in my name –not my parents, (although my awesome mom helped me out) and I couldn’t be anymore thankful!
3. Being selected for the Barbie Collector Advisory Panel.
I have always been a fan of Barbie! I have played with her forever and when others told me I was too old to play with her, I started collecting! I was so honored to be chosen as one of the eight collectors! We were flown to California and immersed in all things Barbie…it was so awesome!
2. Becoming a Certified Wedding Planner.
Since I was a little girl I dreamed of being a party planner! My Barbie dolls had the best bashes ever! lol As I got older I realized that being an event planner was an actual career option! I was so honored to be a scholarship recipient of this program and be named as one of the directors for Texas as well! So glad to be a Certified Wedding Planner! Who is getting married?
1. Starting this Blog!
I remember when I first started this blog and I had like two page views a day– my mom and I. Now it has grown so much, I’ve met so many cool people, and been offered some super opportunities. I love this blog and I have so many things planned for the new year! I promise to post more and be a better blogger in 2013!
Come back next year!
