If you follow me online you know that I’m super busy–I’m always checking in somewhere. I know it sounds weird but I prefer to be on the go! I don’t like to be sitting around doing nothing. This is great and it makes for great blog content and super cute Instagram photos, but sometimes I don’t have time for important things…like going to the doctor. I can’t tell you how many doctor’s appointments I’ve missed in my lifetime. OMG…it’s alot. I needed to get a physical before classes start, but I’m either at work events, school, meetings, a blogging event…or it’s after business hours. So I was wondering how I was going to find time to get to the doctor. I was super glad to find out that Walgreens Healthcare Clinic offers evening appointments and weekend appointments as well. The clinic offers most services that you can get at your regular doctors office…that’s neat. So after I realized I could get a physical at Walgreens, I immediately went to the website to see where the nearest clinic location was…so many locations popped up, almost one on every corner. On the website, you can also schedule and cancel appointments (without having to deal with pesky receptionist or risk cancelation fees) through the real time scheduling system. Since I was off I wanted an appointment for the very next day before my lunch date and blogger event. So I scheduled my appointment for Friday at 9:30am. Chile, that didn’t work out. Apparently I actually scheduled my appointment for 9:00am and the high tech electronic sign-in kiosk informed me that I had missed my appointment.
I thought it was going to take a long time, however, I filled out some forms and I was called back in less than 10 minutes. I didn’t have enough time to finish my Instagram photo shoot. For some reason, I envisioned a little room with a few medical items…but there is literally a real doctor room (is that what you call them?) back there!
The physicians assistant was very nice. He got down to business: he asked my medical history, checked my vitals and my reflexes, unfortunately he had to weigh me too. He didn’t seem alarmed by the scale. Oh yeah, he made me duck walk…I’m not sure if this is routine or not…but I did it…and I laughed the entire time. My physical went great! I am in perfect health. The doctor said my balance and flexibility was awesome!! Yay me!
Okay, it may seem like I was in there for a while–I wasn’t. I think the whole appointment was maybe 20 minutes. That’s what I’m talking about…efficiency!! I don’t think I’ve got out of a doctors appointment–even for a routine physical in less than an hour. Walgreens is close to home and gets you in and out, because they know you have a date at noon they value your time. Oh, and check out my Google+ Album for more pictures!
Do you miss doctors appointments like me? How do you keep up with them?

Omg! $39 physicals are a steal!
We have used the clinics before and also like the speed of getting in and out. I am going to borrow your impatient photo shoot the next time I am forced to wait somewhere.

Pictures are always a good way to pass the time!
Looks like a great experience. I love this type of option for when getting to my doctor is too far or not available.

convenient thanks for the info
I don’t miss them anymore because I put EVERYTHING into my phone with two alerts beforehand so that I don’t forget. I’m the worst sort of forgetful. 🙂
