Wendy Williams Sit Down Tour Comes to Houston!

Wendy-Williams-Sit-Down-Tour-Houston-HobbyIf you know me, you know that I’m a HUGE Wendy Williams. Since her show started, I’ve tuned in religiously. I’ve read all of her books and followed the latter part of her radio career. So when I found out that she was going to be doing a tour anddd coming to Houston, I knew  I had to be there. I asked some of my friends if they wanted to go with me and they all said no, so I bought a VIP ticket and went alone. I arrived fashionably late, just in time to see the guy opening up for her finish. He told a few jokes but I didn’t really laugh, I get stressed out when I’m late and when I walked in my coral spandex dress, I got lots of stares and comments, especially from the people sitting next to me. I was instantly annoyed.

I went out for intermission to get me a drink and checked my Instagram and had an epiphany! I went back inside drinkless…the line was too long, determined to enjoy the rest of the show and I did. Wendy Williams is hilarious. The show started off with her talking about music, she even had a DJ there who would play songs she was referencing on cue. At one point, she was reveling in the moment and walked clear off the stage. Yes, honey, her worst nightmare came true. She fell! She hopped back up like a pro. She said the theatre was set up different because there was a pit in front of the stage.  This show was at the Hobby Center in Houston, which doesn’t allow open containers into the theatre, so they sell these tumblers for people to drink out of, you should have seen these grown people with tumblers full of wine and whiskey dancing to the DJ. It was a comical sight.

Then Wendy went on to tell her stories. I love how open she was about everything in her life. She gave life lessons and made them funny. She was vulgar too…like she used to be on the radio. F-bombs, b-words, even the P-word! Chile, Wendy Wiliams was in rare form. I’m glad that the audience was interactive because I heard in some other cities, the audience was a bore. She told this one guy who was in the first row to get it together!! Lol He was sitting up there with his arms crossed y’all like he had an attitude. Lol This was one of the less explicit stories that I was able to capture on video. Hilarious!

Rewind, back to that epiphany I had. Well, I checked my Instagram and noticed that the lady next to me had on that exact same top. It was Tami Roman from Basketball Wives. Intially, I was like OMG, I need to get a picture with her, but then I realized that she had she made her boyfriend switch seats with her  so that he wasn’t sitting next to me anymore! Lawd. See thats that stuff! It doesn’t matter what I have on…your boyfriend should only be looking at you…cause I don’t want him. That made me sad because I liked her…but I guess.I unfollowed her on every social media channel after that.

After the show, I went to go pick up my VIP bag because I arrived too late to do so. It was very simple. They just checked my name and gave me my bag. It had a t-shirt, a cute mug, an autographed picture, a keychain, and my cute VIP lanyard. Luckily, I was the fifth person out and got right in line. Honey, I’m glad I did, because 5 minutes later a line of Wendy lovers lined up and it was wrapped around the foyer. This is where it got unorganized. Some of the people who didn’t pay for VIP wanted to stick around and Wendy was not coming out until all the free loaders were gone. I’m wearing 6 inch stilettos, so I was really trying to hurry up. Finally they left and Wendy came out! She’s soooo tall!! One of the people on her team decided they didn’t want us to take pictures on our cell phone at the last minute. Very annoying.  And actually, the reason why I didn’t post this earlier, is because my photo with her was no where to be found for like 5 days.  Anyway, I took my professional photo with Wendy and I even told her how people were hating, and she said I was perfect. Yayyy!! I was so excited! So everything else didn’t matter because I met Wendy!!!
